The Passarela do Alcool Porto Seguro
  • The Passarela de Alcool is located in the city center of Porto Seguro. The Passarela, as called by the locals, literally means the "walkway of alcohol". It is so named, because of an area of little barraca’s or tent bars selling various concoctions of cocktails and mixed drinks, most made with a mixture of tropical fruits, vodka and sweetened condensed milk. In general, these drinks are deceptively sweet in taste, but strong in effect! The remainder of the Passarela de Alcool consists of a street fair of souvenir stands, crafts, art displays and food vendors. It is an interesting experience, especially after a few drinks or a meal at one of the area's fine restaurants. Open every night from 6pm until 11:30pm, the Passarela de Alcool is a short ride on the public bus from Residencial das Araras.
